Today was a wonderful day in the beautiful town of Luzern, Switzerland. It started at 4:30 am with an early train ride to the airport, and a flight over the beautiful alps, then another train ride trough the Swiss countryside and lakes and mountains to Luzern. All clouds had burnt off, so by the time we arrived the sun was shining and ready to greet us to this photogenic Swiss treasure.
Jenna and I meandered slowly through town, enjoying a rococo Jesuit church, Christmas markets, and an elderly man singing group along the way. We got bread and yoghurt and enjoyed our make-shift lunch on the riverside with a handful of other people and several handfuls of swans (who were not at all shy!).
After finishing our lunch and basking in the sun, we walked through the old town and up to the old city wall, then back down tthrough the arts and crafts market. As the sun started it's decent we decided to make out way to the hostel where we had about an hour to sit, relax, and unwind before a dinner of soup, salad, personal pizzas (cooked in a stone oven) and moist chocolate cake in the hostel. It was delicious, and we appreciated not havig to go back out into the cold!
Now I am going to prepare for another day in the Alps! Good night!
