We Study Next Door to a Prince

Last night at about nine I layed down for what I thought was going to be a few minutes, then I woke up this morning when my alarm went off. And that's why I'm writing my blog post this morning...

Yesterday I learned that the building next door to Palais Corbelli (where IES is) was the summer palace of Prince Eugene of Savoy. So if we were here a couple hundred years ago we would be studying next door to a prince.

I also visited the snowglobe factory with my education internship (how that relates, I don't know). The original snowglobe was invented in Vienna in 1900 by Erwin Perzy I. The company is now owned by his grandson, Erwin Perzy III and emplys 15 people in shop and 15 people who work from home, and the snowglobes are shipped all over the world, which I would never have guessed from the size of the factoy. The invention of the Schneekugal (snowglobe) was actually a mistake. Perzy was looking to invent a way to enlarge light spots to improve operation room lighting.

Well it must be time for me to get back to the books (literally, I'm at work in the library). Have a splendid day, and stay healthy!
