And notebooks, folders, pencils secured in my striped tote.
I departed for German, class starting at nine,
Our instructor made more sense, I understood fine.
After German I left in a hurry,
My internship started at eleven, and you know how I worry.
I was shocked to find children all sprawled about,
Yet the classroom had order, I can report without doubt.
I introduced myself as Amalia, an American with a cat,
While the children sat quietly, they seemed eager to chat!
On colors and animals was today's lesson,
I read "The Three Little Pigs," pausing with discretion.
I made my way home and prepared my lunch,
Then watched some TV while I proceeded to munch.
I found myself yawning and decided to nap,
Then prepared for my second journey, double checking the map.
I made it to piano with time to spare,
Public transport in Wien is fantastic, though I have little to compare.
I enjoyed the lesson, and look forward to more,
I think practice will be relaxing, rather than a chore.
At the end of the day I was tired indeed,
But was pleased to play peek-a-boo with a baby in need.
His grin and laugh sent me home rather smitten,
But now I must sleep, since my poem is written.
WOW! So fun. So enjoyable. You are so talented. Thanks for sharing. Sounds like a full, stimulating day. Hope you continue to feel better.
